Bringing fan clubs into the digital era.

Formerly Fahlo. The first app to reward users with virtual coins that can be turned into real merchandise from their favourite superstars.

Working in the shadow of the Hollywood sign, Sarah was packed off to LA for six-week stints to act as Head of Design for Fahlo. During this time Fahlo transitioned to Bkstg and undertook a rebrand and further redesign, requiring an entirely different user experience due to technology changes and advances.

Fahlo was the first app to be designed specifically for superfans of the world's largest superstars. With the help of our super-talented bunch of community managers, we were directly interfacing with the celebrities and designing campaigns for various use-cases on a daily basis.

Custom Superfan Badges

Our superfans love collecting things, even if those things are virtual. We created a giant set of badges that could be earned and proudly displayed in your Fahlo profile for all to see. We created custom badges for winners of special giveaways or people who were on the app at poignant moments. The badges served as great social-proof for the age demographic of Fahlo and fans regularly made their own artwork to show off their trophy cabinet.

Superfans of celebrities want to interact in silos. They prefer to feel like they have commonality with other users than using a public forum open to criticism from non-fans alike. Our purpose was to create a safe, self-policed, as well as community-policed, environment for superfans to exist, engage and purchase safely from the celebrity direct.

Our goal was to increase the DAU's across the board whilst initially improving the existing user interface design whilst simultaneously redesigning a new experience from the ground up.

Bkstg still continues today under new management.
